Alumni Advancement Fund & Micro-Grant

In 2023, the Argosy Collegiate Charter School (ACCS) Foundation established the Alumni Advancement Fund to support ACCS’ alumni pursuing postsecondary degrees or CTE certifications. Guided by the vision that no Argosy graduate should be held back by financial barriers, the fund provides micro-grants to bridge gaps left by traditional financial aid, scholarships, or personal resources.

To date, the Alumni Advancement Fund has distributed almost $79,000.

Who may apply?

Alumni from Argosy Collegiate Charter School who are in the process of pursuing a college degree as an undergraduate, or a simultaneous undergrad/graduate degree, or a Career & Technical Educational certification are eligible to apply. Additionally, Argosy seniors may also apply upon acceptance and commitment to a college or university.

Use of funds

Awards must be used by the alumni in pursuit of an undergraduate degree. Funds may be applied to the purchase of a course, fees, supplies, textbooks/virtual books, or other expenses including financial hardships so long as the applicant provides his/her/their rationale and documentation that justifies the expense and payment.

How often can an applicant apply?

Funds are limited. Applicants may apply once per academic year. In extraordinary circumstances or if funds are not fully expended, a second application in an academic year will be considered. Priority may be given to alumni who have not received previous funding and those experiencing a hardship.

The micro-grant application window is closed and will reopen in December!

Words from our Alumni Award Recipients

“I'd like to thank the Argosy Alumni Advancement Fund, and its donors for their generosity in creating, running, and funding this program. Thanks to everyone involved and all who donated, I will graduate from New England Tech with my RI Pipefitter Journeypersons License in Natural Gas and Fuel Oil, and I will have two years under my belt for my Refrigeration II Licence. Your generosity has genuinely given me a chance to chase my dream career as an Industrial A/C service technician. I graduate next year in 2026 and because of the program at Argosy, I am so blessed to be able to just chase the future I've envisioned for myself. Not many people get the ability to really find their passion. Once again, I would like to extend a gigantic thank you to all the donors, the board, and the foundation for this blessing.”

“Thanks to the generosity of the Argosy Alumni Association, I can ease my mind of tuition payments and strive to do the best I can everyday to graduate and become a Residential Electrician. Thank you to the Argosy Alumni Association for helping me with both my education and my future.”

“I want to thank the donors of the Argosy Alumni Advancement Fund. As I begin my second year at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, studying Finance, the funds generously donated to the program given to me has helped pay for the hefty costs of textbooks. I hope to be able to pay this forward in the future. I know many people struggle, and become hindered academically trying to attain funding for their class materials. My plan for now is to dive into quantitative finance, not necessarily the major, but use the resources I have at UMass Dartmouth to research and develop trading algorithms, as that is what I am truly passionate about. Again, thank you to all donors of the Argosy Alumni Advancement Fund, this opportunity is something that makes or breaks the academic path scholars take.”
